CLAY (#14)

Translations
Ari Brodie-Weisberg

did Gilgamesh wish to be so human

his being craved through pictures
a fate enriched in time
they pray

stop falling in love with yourself
the sky is far more expansive
up and down

a rumble of creatures so distant
mistaken for thunder
and Gilgamesh recalling not the creatures
but the water that denied him
their glory
